Pros

The people you will work with are all cool, the work you do will be awesome, you’ll learn very quickly.

Cons

The pay structure is broken, technicians earn more than more qualified engineers who take on more risk. Engineers are asked and expected to work above the contracted amount of hours for no extra compensation. There is also no standard bonus which is odd for what will be a publicly listed company with a yearly review and rigid career development and pay bands. The company also hires middle managers with little to no expertise or understanding of the product which results in issues with proper resource allocation and escalation of technical risks.

Hi there, We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We are stoked to hear that you are enjoying the workplace environment and that you have great relationships with other employees here at Rocket Lab. We appreciate the feedback regarding salary. We do have a number of people who come over from overseas where wage and conditions are different, however we have had our remuneration bench-marked, and for the most part we are on par with our local markets and where we are not, we are working hard to change this. Thanks again for the feedback and for all your hard work! -Rocket Lab People & Culture

Pros

The experience on your Resume

Cons

It’s an unfair workplace that continues to take from employees until they are ground in to the dirt. They even asked staff to work for free during lockdown, so they didn’t get behind in production. No doubt at all the the VPs and above still got paid!

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. With regards to your comment about asking employees to work for free during lockdown, none of our staff were asked to work and were paid at least 80% of their wages during this time. If you could provide a specific example of when this occurred (anonymously) to peopleandculture@rocketlab.co.nz so we can investigate, it would be appreciated. Thanks again for your feedback and we hope you provide some more insight into your comments. -Rocket Lab People and Culture
