Terrible work/life balance. They expect you to work until 7:30pm or later, most bankers work until 8pm or later and you are criticized and ridiculed for trying to leave around 7 or 7:30 (11 hours). The culture is all about working 60 hours or more per week. My boss wouldn't even see his kids all week because we work so much. The company tried to brainwash you and says that they work so hard to provide such a great life for their family and that '30 minutes of quality focused time with your kids is better than a lazy parent who sits on the couch for 4 hours and doesn't focus on their kids' I didn't buy any of that. I left because I was sick of being gone 14 hours per day and 2 required Saturdays per month. I knew I would make less money, but it was worth it to get my life back. Turnover is extremely high with little job security, only 15% of my training class was still there after 9 months. They fire people really easily.

This is a great place for kids fresh out of college. Seasoned professionals, not so much. Management loves to talk, but isn't so great at listening, especially to anyone with experience outside the company. For all the talk of the 'isms' and culture, Quicken Loans is a typical corporation in more ways than they'd like to admit. The 'isms' only apply when things are going well for the company. When challenging times crop up their high sounding philosophy goes out the window, to the expense of their employees.
