Pros

Good earning potential. Relatively stable industry - although rates fluctuate, people will always need to buy and sell houses. Good company values or "ISMs" when they are actually followed (see Cons for more). Recent All company meetings have featured concerts from Snoop Dogg and Eminem.

Cons

Your experience depends entirely on your leader. Most are only looking out for themselves and will throw you under the bus at the drop of a hat. The company has great values, but most leaders only follow the ISMs when it benefits them directly. Leadership is extremely top heavy with a ton of micro management. After Rocket had its best year ever in 2021, there were massive layoffs every year since: 2022, 2023 (twice), 2024, and 2025 (twice).

Pros

They’re able to offer good benefits due to their size, benefits of scale.

Cons

As a former Mr. Cooper employee I’m on their transition team. Scheduled to be laid off in Q3 ‘26. They make us do two half day orientations to tell us how great the company is. Also, no raise this year due to transition status. So I’ll give them a bare bones minimum effort during transition then collect my severance.

Pros

Good training, nice office and friendly people.

Cons

The first five months are dedicated to training, which is a solid starting point. After that, you’ll be expected to put in 60+ hours a week, with most first-year earnings falling between $50–65k. On paper, that might seem like a good salary, but when you weigh it against the long hours, stress, and constant pressure, it doesn’t really add up. Turnover is high, and many new hires don’t make it through the first year due to the fast-paced, high-burnout environment. Operations are centralized in Detroit, and growth opportunities are mostly limited to traditional banking. The company also has a strong focus on “woke” culture, which may not align with everyone’s preferences.
