Pros

Great colleagues, can work independently and work-life flexibility

Cons

Compensation and benefits not commensurate with competition or similarly situated companies. Compensation inconsistencies and double-standards across employees with same roles and responsibilities. Department leadership more interested in keeping your salary toward the low-end of the range rather than incentivizing you, so adjust your work product accordingly.

Pros

There are a lot of great people who work at Rockwell, love what they work on and the customers who use what they work on. I appreciate this and the stable, non-threatening, consistent environment fostered in the culture of the company. It’s very hard to overestimate the value of liking and enjoying the team of people around you.

Cons

Rockwell is a 114 year old engineering firm with a culture to match. The management structure is rigid and immovable; it’s set up by seniority and structured to move people up every 3-5 years and that’s just enough incentive to keep upwardly mobile employees willing to stay at the company vs seeking other lateral, better-paying jobs with other firms.
