If you want to work for a dictatorial leadership, Rocky Brands is the place for you. The management makes it abundantly clear though their leadership that they care nothing about sales representatives having any sort of a life outside of this job. There is zero positive reinforcement, let alone constructive criticism, and management rarely if never travels with reps in order to see what is actually going on in the marketplace.
Reps are also tracked using an iPhone app that is able to determine their exact location, and management uses this to monitor their activity daily and reprimand those who aren't traveling according to their liking. Daily travel and nightly hotel stays are required. Reps are also required to see a certain amount of accounts per week, per month, etc., but then are limited in the amount of mileage, hotel stays, etc. they may accrue. If they don't stay within guidelines, Rocky will not reimburse business expenses. It's a Catch 22.
The management "re-negotiates" its contracts with reps on a yearly basis, which means that when one starts making too much money, their commission percentage is lowered, or accounts that are doing too much volume are given to key account managers.
This by far was the most miserable company I've ever worked for, and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.
