Pros

- Catered Lunches - Amazing People

Cons

Working here will give you some unique technical challenges as well as giving you an opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry. However, the culture is toxic and there are many underlying issues with the company. With the new wave of Amazon executives, the company has taken a turn for the worse. The culture is now a culture of PICs/PIPs and performance management. Employees are now under constant stress to not only meet the expectations of their role, but to try and sell themselves to anyone and everyone so that they can remain viable. This of course creates an environment that is full of fear and one-upmanship and takes the joy out of the job. It is a constant struggle mentally and it shows on the faces of the employees daily. Many employees are waiting for the IPO - which keeps being delayed over and over again. It's a running joke that IPO is "one year away", but this catchphrase has been used for the past 3 or 4 years. Think twice and thrice if you are considering working here. Management is not transparent, though they would like to think they are. Surveys are not anonymous even though they continue to remind us that they are. There is constant turnover, don't let the company try to convince you otherwise. They will say they have not had to layoff people en-masse (like Google, Amazon, etc), but they either performance manage people out (in droves, around 40 the last quarter), or they make people redundant only to fill their roles a few months later, or people just quit in disgust. Recently, a number employees were made redundant, the company held a meeting to let the employees know, afterwards, the employees were asked if they had any good jokes to tell. Seriously, what is wrong with the management here? To work here, you'll need to wade through a daily minefield of favourtism, deceit and fear. Make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into.

Thank you for your feedback. We strive to balance our high-performance, fast-paced environment (aligned with our core value of 'Raising the Bar') but acknowledge it is demanding and may not resonate with everyone. We appreciate your honesty in sharing this perspective. Our team has still grown net +15% in the past year while most of the industry downsized. We're committed to supporting our team's growth and understand that the pace of change isn't always a perfect fit for everyone, despite our high investment in professional development programs (like LevelUp and professional coaching). We continuously seek to improve our development programs and support systems to better serve our Rokt’stars. We sincerely wish you the best and are grateful for the time you spent with us. Thank you again for your contributions and feedback.

Pros

If you joined at the right time, the options will give you financial independence when they float

Cons

Founder led business, constantly micromanaged leaving a level of decision paralysis across the organisation. You’ll find that in an instant, the organisation will readjust comp and benefits, leaving the initial contract you signed to be utterly worthless. For me, despite positive feedback for my performance, my role was “reclassified” which led to a reduction in salary of 25% and having to leave in order to afford rent and bills.

Worst culture ever known

Pros

Good value of options but already passed the best time of join

Cons

1. Toxic & Blame culture. No one wants to ask any questions during all staff meeting. 2. Great preferences in leadership. Especially in senior level. If your manager likes u, you can get whatever you want. Otherwise, nothing. 3. No compassion. Force people going back to office during the period of Covid. 4. Fire culture. CEO told people to leave (instead of listening) if not happy during all staff. 5. Arrogant senior leadership. Employees lost job for having different opinions. 6. Pretend listening to suggestions but never make a single change. 7. etc. Too many to name all. Better avoid it.

Thank you for your feedback. This is not the type of review we would like to ever read from a current employee, it’s distressing for us to know that you feel this way. There is a lot to analyze here but the main thing is that we want to help you, we want to foster your time at Rokt to be one of growth and happiness, not of anger and regret. If we have come across as arrogant or not compassionate, then we apologize as that is not our intention. We care deeply about our people and rely on your feedback to help guide us where we go right and wrong. We sincerely would like to hear your advice if you’d like to send it via our anonymous channel or you can speak confidentially with any member of the People team.
