The benefits are good and it’s fairly stable work

Cons

Management are stuck in the past regarding their desperate need to get everyone back into the office full time at the detriment to their wellbeing and even their productivity as many of us have improved output when we have the ability to work remotely. A lot of drama and difficult personalities, abysmal pay, micromanaging upper management and some mid management who are constantly taking time off and make getting anything done impossible.

Everyone I interacted with in the Parks & Recreation department were a pleasure to work with. I received a nice friendly welcome from everybody when I started and great mentorship as well. The work I did was interesting. I enjoyed meeting every week with others and discussing what we were all working on. Great communication. Overall, the job itself was great. Also, sick leave is paid out when you leave.

Cons

Temporary position, so little benefits & security. Pay was low.

Lots of good people to work with, both within IT and in other departments.

Cons

As long as you go along with the direction IT senior management wants to go, you will be OK, but if you dissent, you will be met with fierce resistance and be told the decision authority is not yours. There is the illusion of collaboration, but really it is a dictatorship. We have lost many good people because of dept management. Senior management is not trusting of employee decisions and meddles in many low-level processes and decisions. Purchasing processes are ridiculously complex and lengthy.
