Low pay, long hours and bad management

Pros

Downtown Roseville is a great location.

Cons

If you're considering a job in IT, wait a little while until they replace the CIO. It shouldn't be too long. Unfortunately, if the trend continues everyone else in the department will be gone by then. If you do go to work there, watch anything you say, it will get reported to someone and you WILL be gone. A soul crunching job that makes you long for any brief escape from the office you can get. Run away from this one.

Bad and getting worse

Pros

Some of your coworkers are fantastic. Equipment is good. Shift hours are good. Pay is good.

Cons

DO NOT get on the bad side of management. You will absolutely regret it. This is actually a frightening and oppressive place to work. The Chief is absolutely an unknown even though he's been here a few years. BUT if you can exercise well and play the game you'll probably be ok. Management is vindictive and clueless. If the public only knew..... PS is it my turn to play ping pong yet?

Poor Management

Pros

Pay is good comparable to other jobs in the area. Pretty decent family health care coverage that had little out of pocket for me.

Cons

The top management have caused a lot of talent to leave. By the time I left morale was as low as it can get. 99% of the problems within the department came from poor communication and management from the two highest people in the department. Micromanagement is off the charts from the top management mentioned previously. No consistency in any process at all. I would guess the majority of the staff is looking for other work.
