Pros

Lately, none to think of

Cons

- micromanage is an understatement, management comes around and takes attendance every morning. You are told you must be here by 8:30 am every morning and stay until 5:30 every night. ZERO, and I mean ZERO flexibility, that includes doctors appointments, family needs or even personal time. People are being told to schedule doctor appointments outside of in office days - you have an emergency and need to get to a Dr asap? Doesn’t matter - in office days are now Monday- Thursday- even though company still has jobs listed on LinkedIn as “hybrid”. So dishonest. In office extension from 3-4 days based on one year of bad performance. One year, in a company that has been profitable for decades. Poor business was directly blamed on the buyers and their teams, even though the buyers have no autonomy to make ANY decision on their own. This blame was not only shared with the buyers but also showcased publicly by CEO on quarterly business call for all competition and vendor base to hear. You wanna work for a company that has your back? This ain’t it. - Diversity and Inclusion is forced here, on annual and mid year reviews. We’re even being asked how the company can “measure” it. As a person of color, and there are VERY few here, I have to say- if you have to “measure it” it isn’t present. - the mindset and processes here are archaic- there is no work/life balance. You are pushed to your breaking point. We are not heard when expressed concerns we are told to wear “our company hat” and spin it to be positive. The culture here is toxic, everyone is miserable. Please go work ANYWHERE else.

Pros

Coming from my previous employment of over 27 years at another company, I was nervous to join Ross. I had no idea what to expect. Everyone immediately welcomed me and made me feel at home. I can honestly say that all our groups work together in an inclusive way which allows my work to be more efficient. I have been at Ross for close to 2 years and still very happy with my decision to join.

Cons

The hiring process can be a little drawn out so be prepared.

Pros

Competitive compensation (that's how they attract people), decent bonuses and benefits, you learn a lot in a short period of time, and some fun good hearted peopl sprinkled throughout.

Cons

Leadership likes to boast about company values but they're simply words on paper and carry ZERO value. Management is not trustworthy and seem to have a hidden agenda. Extremely political environment- border inappropriate across senior management. Limited career growth in the corporate office unless you're sleeping with or married to a member of management. Lots of turnover in this cut throat environment from store operations to finance to HR.
