Pros

Fantastic staff. Nice riverside location

Cons

A toxic culture prevails over the place Very poor and inexperienced management team, the majority of whom know very little l, if anything, about the process they manage. Real expertise and talent is often ignored, or it is used by managers to make themselves look good. The D365 system is a disaster and again, staff opinions are not listened to, which has brought about an air of despondency. Rotork used to be a great place to work and everyone was very proud to be working there, but somehow the various management teams have thrown it all away and replaced it with mismanagement, targets and performance measures. Bullying was never previously heard of but now often occurs and is covered up by senior management. When I left all of my co-workers said, without exception, that they wished that they could get out too. A very sad indictment for a company that used to be a fantastic place to work. Very little to no prospects of career opportunities or promotion unless you are part of the ’in-crowd’.

Pros

Local and steady secure job. Interesting and varied workload. Overtime available when busy. Share options.

Cons

Poor pay for 90% of workforce, they are paid less than the supermarket which leads to most employees being nonchalant about quality of their product and pride in their work. Hard work is not rewarded, poor performers are molly coddled while hard workers get penalised and the more work they do, the more is expected of them. Unlimited sick pay leads to staff shortages due to people abusing the system.
