Pros

- not just supposedly dog friendly, but dog (and pet) focused - an honestly supportive environment. When people wanted to learn new skills, change teams, or had something going on in their lives , I felt like we actually followed through on our principles and supported them. - therefore I think a great place for early to mid-career ICs to come and learn new things. I got to try a lot of hats and challenge myself with new responsibilities. - (I believe at least) a high hiring bar. Everyone I worked with was smart, nice, and competent, in their own ways. - great work/life balance - good leadership transparency - overall still a recommend! Life is too short to work for toxic, exploitative places.

Cons

- on the lower side for competitive pay in the area, especially if you’re looking at TC. It was especially rough trying to compete in hiring with local large companies (the Amazon/Microsoft/Facebooks). In the end it’s going to be lower but with better culture and work/life balance probably. - upper level management decision making speed can be slow. Some important decisions kept on being put off, such as our remote work policy, which was unhelpful in retaining some great people who wanted answers. Some other organizational processes were also, slowly, being improved at the time I left. - It feels a little too late for the DEI strategies they’re willing to use. As others have said, management is not very diverse, and it’s difficult to suddenly fix this by hiring. We should have started a more diverse funnel ages ago and promoted some more talent internally.

Pros

Supportive team environment, work life balance, responds to employee feedback quickly and fairly, good benefits, trust and transparency in the way the company is run.

Cons

Slightly lower salary ranges, very lean running (i.e. difficult to get the supplies you need), expensive parking under building (Seattle).

Pros

It's easy to see why people stay for 7+ years and return after their sabbatical -- The company culture is so strong, the leaders are driven by the core values and support their teams with empathy and the company is so driven by results. There are many opportunities to learn, great benefits, fair compensation.

Cons

Leveling by roles/teams can be inconsistent, the OKR structure can lead to extreme siloing and lack of cross-functional teamwork, some growing pains with becoming a public company, need more support for WFH.
