      Pros

      The team at the Wallace Forum is professional and courteous. I’ve worked for 3 schools in the RSS district and think that the administration generally values their teachers. Good support for Beginning Teachers. School schedule has a good number of long weekends built in to the school year. Teacher’s time is honored.

      Cons

      It is a rural school district with the challenges that every school district has serving rural students. Many schools are home community schools that have a break in period for new faces. Higher pay is available in the surrounding districts.

      Tight Budget but Amazing Students

      Pros

      There's a lot of support from the other teachers. The students are well-mannered overall. The district really cares about the children learning and their emotional health. (as evidenced in the renewal system).

      Cons

      There's a tight budget, so you have to get creative sometimes when it comes to filling a classroom. Depending on the school, the admin team is not extremely supportive. We had a 100% turnover rate of admin every year I worked at the one school, so it was better to rely on the other teachers and the rest of the staff instead.

      Pros

      Pretty autonomous at the school & teacher level. School environment varies greatly depending on the administration on-site (of course).

      Cons

      Leadership seems more focused on what looks good than what works. Students are passed from grade to grade regardless of proficiency. Several problems with payroll in the past year.
