Pros

The quality of the products is second to none. The training is excellent. Most reps are passionate about their jobs.

Cons

Very poor management, every level. Negative management style. Managers tend to distrust reps. Micromanagement is the norm. Sales style is changing to be more high pressure and less consultative. Managers have been caught in lies, even on nationwide conference calls.

Pros

Free pet food, benefits of being part of a larger corporation (Mars), decent benefits (on par with market)

Cons

The management team is constantly touting all of the training that they are taking, but none of it seems to benefit them. There are "plans" that are impossible to keep because the factories do not have the capacity to meet the plan. You spend time building a market and then the stores are all out of stock and it is back on you to build it all back up again to meet the plan (and they don't have numbers to give you anyway). Changing strategies and focus areas are a constant because they are trying to use them as a distraction for lack of an overall strategy for the business. Mars prides itself on accessible leadership in an open office environment yet after multiple re-orgs of the US business and the former president literally walking away, they now have a leadership team that is mostly from France, has no understanding of the US market that is working remotely from NY. They are too distracted by social justice issues to understand that their leaders bully the workforce to try to get decent Gallup scores and don't know how to manage. In other words, stay away.....

Pros

Can bring your pets to work. Most fellow employees are great.

Cons

Upper management only cares about themselves and making the company look good to the owners. They constantly make changes and hire new people to fix things but nothing ever gets fixed or gets any better - its just a different mess.
