Flexibility, love the people I work with.

Cons

Leadership is not transparent and have really treated their employees poorly during this whole COVID situation. Bonuses cancelled 2 days before payout, but we were told we were still getting raises. Then raises cancelled a couple weeks before payout. Then we’re told we have to take a one week furlough but in light of that, some folks still got “secret” raises.

Pros

Product is filling a niche w/vmware and sql. Frontline managers are very good and are currently caught in the crossfire.

Cons

Product mgmt has a hard time developing competitive features. Fell behind in cloud capabilities. Instead of clinging to the startup routes, traditional sales mgmt was brought in and have tried to reproduce vmware sales procedures. Poor GTM native cloud strategy.

Pros

You get to attend board meeting and company updates are frequent. Might make some money if IPO goes well.

Cons

Too much politics for such a small company. Lot of micromanagement by inexperienced managers. They only want relentlessness and velocity and absolutely horrible work life balance. Too many immature old guards who don’t follow any process, but keep talking about process in front of the leadership. Kids get promoted for last moment heroics and spending all their time in office. Quality always comes as aftermath. Losing many big enterprise customers to competition. Not many senior engineers who understand SaaS products on cloud.
