No real leadership here

Pros

It's a good paycheck - work expectations are not bad. There are good people here, just no leaders.

Cons

The morale is terrible It is just a cya environment through and through. Layoffs have been occurring for a solid year and handled poorly. People are just a number to those weilding the ax. No apologies or remorse from the CEO for the steep job loss created by his bad decisions. The environment is one of fear, as anybody can be laid off, without notice, in an instant, regardless of job performance or years of experience. Not a happy place. And a lousy business strategy that nobody believes in, but everybody is too afraid to speak up. After all, it is a paycheck. On the pro side - the leadership team is finally getting an inkling that they have a serious morale problem on their hands and they are acknowledging that maybe they should address it. But, I'm listing it as a con, since all that has occurred is talk, with no action yet. They keep talking about hiring top talent to create a better team, not realizing that they already have top talent. They don't get it.

Pros

Product Variety, Customer Variety, exposed to fabrication in addition to raw materials, national in scope, plenty of opportunity for advancement, especially if willing to move.

Cons

Strategy is always changing....never been associated with a company where it's so guardrail to guardrail, and changes so abruptly. Is not a culture that values employees, but one that is always looking to prop up the next quarterly statement...few decisions being made for the long term good of the organization.
