Pros

The only benefit would be if you need a pay check. Managers check to make sure that everyone is in their cube. Work at home is not an option. Forget making a snow storm excuse. You will hear about it constantly.

Cons

The raises are below other companies. There was never any training offered and no chance for advancement. If you are looking for a management team that is full of themselves and can really follow through with bad decisions Ryerson is your company

Pros

8-5 desk job with weekends off. Great place to work if you don't want to challenge the status quo.

Cons

Upper management will do anything to make you think the same as them. They don't encourage creativity no matter how much they tell you they do. They have their favorites and if you're not one of them it doesn't matter what happens you'll be the one getting into trouble. They also work in a negative reinforcement culture so if you don't mind being told what you're doing wrong all the time this is a great place to work. And the pay is extremely enticing but the insurance rates and other withholding are huge so you won't see most of your money.

Pros

Health insurance and fair 401K match

Cons

Company doesn't fill roles when people leave. They just absorb the responsibilities in other positions. They have the mentality that you should just be thankful to have a job. The pay is average at best and they do little to keep their employees from leaving to work elsewhere. You will never get more than a 1%-2% raise unless you get an offer from a competitor.
