Pros

Good benefits, interesting work, able to work remotely

Cons

Senior management doesn’t value analytical community, only interested in the stock price and will take money out of incentive comp to make its EPS targets. Bonus pool slashed despite record year. Only focused on costs and the stock price. Very low morale, constant employee churn. Constant reorganizations, wasted investments in poor technology platforms.

Pros

Collaborated with some amazing teams of dedicated, very talented people over the years. SPGI believes in diversity. SPGI's CEO sets a very good tone in terms of best practices and culture. There is zero tolerance for discrimination or malfeasance. Reasonable flexibility for working from home and office. Most SPGI employees try to do the right thing.

Cons

The IHS Markit merger has been a substantial clash of cultures and competencies ... and is still unresolved. SPGI values cost cutting /bottom line over longevity and securing institutional knowledge, talent, and longevity. There are very few SPGI employees with 10+ years tenure. SPGI believes in hiring from the outside rather than promoting from within. Promotions are few and far between. Excellent internal talent gets often overlooked. Salaries /bonuses are not competitive with the rest of Wall Street.

Pros

This company has been a dream to work for. The company provides a plethora of resources and benefits to keep the employees happy, there are tons of tools available to further your own development and learn different skills. Every single employee I have interacted with has been extremely helpful and willing to share knowledge, and my direct bosses and other directors within the company are all very open and approachable. I highly recommend S&P to anyone looking for work. Management of the company is always hosting meetings explaining what is going on and the direction of the company in the long term.

Cons

Being completely honest, I have no cons. My experience has been nothing short of amazing.
