Pros

Can’t think of anything at all I would only recommend to a friend for them to get their foot in the door and get a company name with weight (regardless of how they treat employees, unfortunately) on their résumé

Cons

So disorganized and you’re just a number. My company was acquired by SAIC specifically for our department and claimed they’d let us continue as we were. Instead, they bumbled about and threw us assignments they’d been sleeping on until the last minute, then tried to rearrange team dynamic. Benefits are sorely lacking, no adequate PTO for such a large business. Health insurance rates are abhorrent. After being acquired, workdays became something to cry about. For such a large company, there is absolutely no organization or overall brand consistency.

Pros

only 40 hours a week. and the pay is good. that's it. no other pros.

Cons

absolutely zero onboarding. unavailable manager. no training to orient me to the contract I am supporting. job not as promised it would be during the interviews. yes, there were red flags before I signed the offer letter, but I was excited by the opportunity. Should have listened to my gut. Benefits are subpar compared to my private industry jobs. Less pto to start, annual amount increases at a slower rate than past jobs. Health, dental, and vision insurance is MUCH more costly than previous job. SAIC clearly subsidizes much less of the premium than others. 401k match-- where is it? Supposed to be 4% but I haven't seen a single dime and have been participating in the plan for over three months. Turns out it's a quarterly match, deposited at the end of the first month of the following quarter. Talk about nickeling and diming its employees. We lose out on the growth of that investment. I have yet to see people having fun at this job. Lots of dour workers who skip the pleasantries (both SAIC folks and the customers)
