Pros

Allows to grow skill sets to be able to take to the next job. Pays a good starting salary but will back peddle on promises made EVEN IF documented. After that raises are few and far between. A lot of people will be in the same boat you are so you will find great friends because misery loves company.

Cons

You learn how a company should not be ran and what a business environment shouldn't be like. 70 hour work weeks are normal and expected. There is no work life balance. The owner will call at 3am and you are expected to answer. They willingly and consciously break labor laws (state and federal) to improve margins. Upper Management will step over dollars to pick up pennies. Upper Management will ask for you to "Bring me solutions not problems" but will not follow the advice of the solution and then violently scream at you when it blows up.

Pros

Free donuts (haha) and good union benefits.

Cons

Most people were nice and said thank you when you cleaned up their area AND ESPECIALLY WERE NICE WHEN YOU VACUUMED WHEN THEY REQUESTED FOR IT. However, A LOT OF OLDER ELDERLY EMPLOYEES WERE EXTREMELY RUDE and the higher up you get in Mgmt. it only gets worse. They complain about stuff they cause for I.e. their was a footprint in the tiles in the kitchen after I mopped that they complained about that they caused by walking over A WET FLOOR that had a cuidado sign, who does that??? They will literally complain to you more then they tell you you did a good job. Get out of this place while you can I only worked 3 hours a day and I RESENTED GOING IN!! They gave me two warnings the first two weeks I was their and at that point I didn't know my way around the place!! I worked here from January 1st all the way to yesterday March 7th when I was fired.(they waited until after the probationary period to fire me, how pathetic and this firing was even prepared for a week and a half) Everyone always complains and they especially want to bother the new guy. Screw this place and the stupid Mgr. who is never their. Obviously, if you have only worked somewhere for 2 weeks and you're in the building by yourself with no Mgr. or supervisor then you might make a mistake here or there. Also the mop and broom break and fall apart all the time.

As a manager you can make your own schedule. Come and go as you please.

Cons

Turnover is terrible. Managers always have to clean restrooms and take out trash
