Pros

I met some great people here, one of my best friends.

Cons

I worked at the corporate office. This was one of the craziest companies I've ever worked for. THe CEO will scream at you. HR is abhorrent. They set up things like referral bonuses, and then try and weasel out of them. Deadlines are insane, requirements are never really defined, that way they can blame someone else for anything that goes wrong. Someone should do an Office style documentary about this place.

Good company, but I was abused

Pros

The opportunities for advancement are great, however, I am not willing to relocate. The support from Regional level management was good, as well as the support from the budget model designed to be in the red. They are appreciative of my efforts, as well as notice them, and ensure my job is secure despite the structural issues of the SA.

Cons

In this particular situation, SBM was taken advantage of by their strategic partner. I was abused because the initial take-over/transition of the site was not completed properly, because they took the word of their trusted strategic partner. When hired, I was informed of staff leadership issues, not scope, budget, employee, staff leadership, a poorly written SA, and strategic partners that were working against SBM.

Horrible, abusive environment

Pros

The people at SBM are great. Most of them care about their jobs and take pride in their work. Benefits are good. Pay is good.

Cons

SBM is the worst place I've ever worked. The CEO is verbally abusive, beyond anything you can imagine. Those that have to work with him fear coming to work each day and worry each day whether it will be their last. He is completely unreasonable and impossible to please as his ideas and requirements change by the hour. Unwarranted firings occur frequently. Vacation time, don't even think about it. Holidays, maybe you can enjoy Christmas with your family if he's in a good mood. Plan on working weekends as well. Even after all that extra effort, you will never hear a single word of appreciation or gratitude. Don't make the mistake I did. I'm miserable, my peers are miserable, you will be too.
