Pros

If you are looking for a steady job that pays well, this is the wrong choice. Please avoid working here for the sake of your sanity.

Cons

Things are quite unpredictable here. Leadership changes happen often, and employees are always left guessing as to what will happen next. This uncertainty makes each day stressful. This uncertainty also means that employees are never sure of their long-term plans. The pay is so ridiculously low that it seems like a horrible joke. Moving up the ladder is also quite difficult. So, this is the worst choice for those who need career growth and stability. One more thing I'd like to highlight is that I wasn't fond of outreach. It wasn't my dream job. So, I quit sooner than planned. Now, I am doing something I love for an employer I like.

We regret hearing about your negative experience. While we understand that every experience can differ, the environment you described does not reflect the culture we strive to foster at SCAN—a workplace where our Rebels (employees) feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow personally and professionally. We understand that change can feel unsettling at times, and we want to acknowledge that SCAN has been experiencing a period of rapid growth. While this growth has brought necessary adjustments and organizational changes, it also represents a positive and exciting stage in our journey, allowing us to expand our impact, create new opportunities, and strengthen long-term stability for our employees and members alike. Throughout this period of growth, we remain fully committed to transparent communication, professional development, and fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. And with 91% of employees saying that SCAN is a great place to work according to our Great Place to Work survey—we believe we’re headed in the right direction. That said, as we’re always looking for ways to further strengthen our company culture, our leadership also maintains an open-door policy to allow for candid feedback from all levels of the organization with the option to submit anonymously at any time. As you have moved on from SCAN, we wish you the best in your future pursuits.

Pros

Not much pros I can think of.

Cons

This job slowly wore me down and no one seemed to care. Management was obsessed with tracking everything I did, but never once asked how I was holding up. I tried bringing up real issues and it always got brushed aside. Decisions were made far away from the people doing the actual work, then dumped on us like it was no big deal. There was zero trust, just hovering and second guessing every move. Sadly, most people here hate their jobs and each other. Don't do it.

We regret hearing about your negative experience. While we understand that experiences can vary, the environment described does not reflect the culture we strive to maintain at SCAN - one where our Rebels (employees) feel trusted, supported, and connected to our mission of keeping seniors healthy and independent. As SCAN continues to grow and evolve, our leadership team remains deeply involved in the day-to-day work of the organization and remains accessible and engaged, working closely with teams to ensure decisions reflect what’s best for our members. And while growth isn’t without challenge, we remain committed to listening, learning, and improving, and with 91% of our Rebels (employees) saying that SCAN is a great place to work according to our Great Place to Work survey, we believe we’re headed in the right direction. As part of this, our leadership also maintains an open-door policy to allow for candid feedback from all levels of the organization with the option to submit anonymously at any time. As you have moved on from SCAN, we wish you the best in your future pursuits.

Pros

Great mission. Some great people work here that care about the mission.

Cons

Salaries have not kept up with inflation or the market. Upper leadership is becoming more elitist. All the Harvard MBAs and corp dev at the top haven’t a clue. High turnover and new hires lack experience.

We regret hearing about your negative experience, but are glad to see that SCAN’s mission to keep seniors healthy and independent continues to resonate with you and with other colleagues around the organization. We want to be clear in addressing the characterization of our leadership – there is no room for elitism or behaviors that undermine trust here at SCAN. Our leadership team is deeply involved in the day-to-day work of the organization and remains accessible, engaged, and committed to SCAN’s mission, working closely with frontline teams to ensure decisions reflect what’s best for our members. As SCAN continues to grow and evolve, we’re always actively reviewing spending and resource allocation with financial stewardship in mind to ensure long-term scale and stability for our members and Rebels alike. Similarly, employment decisions are made carefully and with our members’ best interests in mind. And while growth isn’t without challenge, we remain committed to listening, learning, and improving, and with 91% of our Rebels (employees) saying that SCAN is a great place to work according to our Great Place to Work survey, we believe we’re headed in the right direction. That said, we hear you and encourage all employees to share their feedback, whether through surveys, direct conversations, or other channels. Honest input is not only welcomed, but essential in helping us improve as we continue to grow and evolve as an organization, and no one should feel hesitant to make their voice heard. Please don’t hesitate to share your feedback with a member of the HR team at peoplerelations@scanhealthplan.com at any time.
