Pros

Okay pay and benefits help, I suppose.

Cons

The backbone of the technology department consists almost entirely of contract and temporary employees, who are hired and fired at the whim of out-of-touch and incompetent directors and vice presidents. These turnovers cause catastrophic loss in knowledge and massive technical debt; this company is being held together by hopes and dreams, with issues being kicked down the road and covered up by hiring a revolving door of executives. These critical contract/temporary employees are conveniently left off of the internal employee satisfaction score emails, but you'll see HR continue to cite the 91% satisfaction rate in Glassdoor responses. Their replies have no basis in reality and do not provide an accurate picture of the low morale that is present at the company. In fact, a former colleague reached out to me saying that their review of SCAN was "reported", but Glassdoor sided with them and kept the review up. I advise potential employees to truly read through recent reviews with high "helpful" votes, as SCAN HR does its best to cover up critical and valid issues.

Pros

Decent pay, remote and highly accomplished inidividuals

Cons

Fire employees within first two months of their roles without any clarity or communication around expectations. They don't tell you around recruitment that the expectation is to work 12+ hours a day. Mistakes are not welcome, any coaching or guidance during onboarding period is not available. Fire people without notice and without severance over the smallest of mistakes and provide no actionable feedback or time to implement it. A bunch of high headed ex-McKinsey consultants run the show and expect every hire to be a pro at slide decks from day one. Please save yourself and your family the trouble of stress, anxiety and unexpected lay offs and work elsewhere!

Pros

Salaries are higher than market. Benefits are good. If you have a toxic nature or throw people under the bus, you will do well here.

Cons

Leadership is really immature starting from the top. Governed by a board that does not care about the toxic culture here. People that are good at their jobs and are well liked seem to disappear overnight with little to no explanation. If explanation is given, it is blamed on the departed employee. Turnover is very high making it hard to do your job, no matter which department you are in. The CEO clearly loves the spotlight but is hypocriticul because what is on Linkedin does not match the company culture. Careers go to flounder here. Finding a job is hard but still avoid this place. Company and leadership change directions every second and you are left to fail as an employee.
