Pros

Decent benefits and some great coworkers

Cons

Nepotism rules here. Many key leaders come from the same organization the CEO was at previously creating a “good ole boys” feel where outside opinions are not considered. Clinical leadership is extremely homogeneous with physicians why have minimal operational experience at the top and no nursing representation at the VP+ level. Nursing is the largest clinical profession at the organization and it is not represented in clinical leadership. They have a great cultural language, but the actions of senior leaders do not reflect it. There is no work life balance. Leaders are expected to be available at all hours and solve problems on human heroics as opposed to building effective systems and infrastructure.

Pros

There's nothing to say here.

Cons

The terrible leadership of SCAN Health Plan just left the employees hanging. We get no support or guidance at all from the leadership, and our leaders don't seem to mind that we're being overworked and forced to extend our hours because of their insane demands and targets. It's no wonder that this company has a very high employee turnover rate. Employees here are treated like disposable machines and aren't appreciated or recognized at all. Meanwhile, the leadership keeps dumping more and more responsibilities on us.

While we understand that not every employee’s experience is the same, we are disappointed to learn that your time with us fell short of your expectations. We value every Rebel on the SCAN team and the important role they play in supporting the seniors we serve. We are committed to fostering a professional, respectful workplace where employees feel heard, supported, and empowered to share feedback. This focus on trust and engagement has helped SCAN earn a 91% Great Place to Work Rating. As you have moved on from SCAN we wish you continued success in your future opportunities.

We regret hearing about your negative experience. We understand that change can feel unsettling at times, especially as SCAN continues to go through a period of rapid growth. While this growth has brought necessary adjustments and organizational changes, it also represents a positive and exciting stage in our journey, allowing us to expand our impact, create new opportunities, and strengthen long-term stability for our employees and members alike. That said, as we’re always looking for ways to further strengthen our company culture and processes, our leadership maintains an open-door policy to allow for candid feedback from all levels of the organization with the option to submit anonymously at any time. As you have moved on from SCAN, we wish you the best in your future pursuits.
