Unhealthy culture with toxic leadership

Pros

SCAN can be a good place for people to gain useful experience and learn a lot within their sector. Every department has a different culture, and some are definitely better than average. SCAN has some cool DEI initiatives and values inclusion (more than half of leadership is female).

Cons

SCAN's culture is unhealthy - a lot of finger pointing, scare tactics, and people doing work out of fear of making mistakes or upsetting the wrong person. When you look at leadership it's easy to understand where it comes from.

Pros

SCAN is true to its mission. They offer great pay, good benefits, work-life balance, random "recharge" days and plenty of room to grow.

Cons

Long tenured employees who are resistant to change. Internal departments are not as integrated as they should be.

Pros

-Great benefits; effective 7% 401k match -True focus on providing a high quality Medicare plan to members -Great company holiday calendar if your supervisor allows you to use them

Cons

-Expected working hours were very different than communicated during interview process; supervisor frequently voiced expectations of availability on weekends, on holidays and comp days, and while on PTO, and demanded frequent last-minute evening overtime during the week. -Communication from management was often disrespectful, combative, or hostile, and constructive feedback was typically provided in a group setting while coworkers sat quietly on mute and listened. -Several managers in this role have quit or moved to another team after less than a year due to the uncomfortable working environment.
