Poor Executive Leadership

Pros

There are some amazing and dedicated people who work there. Retirement plan is excellent with yearly bonuses.

Cons

There is little structure. Executive leadership constantly changes its mind about company priorities, depending on the department you're in, so you often work on initiatives that go nowhere. Very little transparency about changes within the company--you always hear about things through rumors. There is also high turnover so there is not much stability or room for growth.

Strange Combination or Micromanagement and Deflection

Pros

Good employees, who really give it their all. Strong ecologically conscious work environment.

Cons

Supervisors and managers who don't appear to understand that employees are giving it their all, with this weird expectation of running a marathon at a dash speed. For-profit company that is run like a non-profit, including 'low-end-of-market' salaries.

Needs improvement

Pros

- Flexibility (supervisor dependent of course) - Everyone works form home. - Extremely generous retirement benefits (50% match after 5 year vetting) - We recently experienced some fairly significant company-wide pay raises over the last year or so.

Cons

- As far as I know, the company has done away with merit-based raises or bonuses. This has allowed low-performers to continue to get the same raises as the high performers. Many employees are discouraged by this change. - Employee benefits could be improved to enhance retention and prevent burn-out - it feels like the company cares far more about profit than the wellbeing of their employees or quality of their work. It feels like upper management thinks we are expendable. Burn out is common. - The company needs a COO to handle the day to day operations and support managers, supervisors, and employees. This would enhance efficiency. - There are no professional development opportunities outside of required training. - Promotions seem to take a while to go through - There is no way for an employee to express their concerns about the company or management to help make change. - The health insurance (Cigna) for out of state employees isn’t great . The dependent coverage is prohibitively expensive.

SCS Global Services Response

Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback with us. With SCS Global Services being a remote company, we agree that it’s nice to have the flexibility of working from home. We were also very fortunate to receive three company wide increases over the last year. At SCS we believe in a team dynamic, so when the company is doing great, everyone as a whole benefits from that. HR and managers also encourage professional development and promotions with pay increases. It’s important to us that we help build our current employees and encourage them to grow with our quickly expanding company. Regarding benefits, our HR team is dedicated to review market rates & compensation for all positions twice a year. Since SCS has employees in over 40 states here in the U.S. we review different insurance plans and providers every year to make sure all our employees can benefit from our health insurance, dental, vision, etc. We really appreciate your suggestion regarding a platform for current employees to express their concerns. We will look into a virtual suggestion box. We welcome you to reach out to Human Resources with any suggestions or concerns in the future. Again, thank you for the feedback and we look forward to your continued contributions!
