Reconsider working here if you are Black

I would seriously contemplate working at SCS if you are black but at the end of the day, do what you have to do. I had an almost identical experience to a black employee that was fired right before they hired me. I was essentially pushed out of the company and fired for reasons that other members on my team had against them as well, but my shortcomings always seemed to be exaggerated. Management acts like they want to help but ultimately only care about the number of audits you can churn in a month. Its like a drive-thru. I had life issues and was inquiring about going on a leave and ironically was fired right after this inquiry.

-Great work environment -Straight forward application and onboarding process. -Hold fun team building activities throughout the year

Cons

- The minimum wage left much to be desired and was not conducive to the inflated cost of living in the Bay Area - Lacked an adequate/efficient central management system, which caused piecemeal communication, sales, and project management within and between programs. -Lacked a sense of uniformity/ purpose within programs and departments due to high turnover, and lack of consistent communication between upper management and those that implement day to day business functions - Lacked clearly defined mechanisms to move, develop, and progress within the company

We are glad you enjoyed SCS' work environment and employee events. We are moving forward with plans to upgrade our data management system to Salesforce which will enable us to streamline project management processes. We are proud of our track record for internal promotions - the majority of SCS' managers have accumulated their expertise from within their program. The issue of compensation is complex in the Bay Area. As you know, key Bay Area industries (tech, health, financial) have driven regional averages through the roof. In the environmental services sector, we have done everything possible to make SCS' total compensation and benefits package, including a 50% match on the 401k, quite competitive.
