Pros

Kids are incredible, they really make everything worthwhile. A lot of staff are really dedicated and passionate.

Cons

Organization is unclear in its mission statement which leads to confusing decisions that made me lose faith in their ability to lead. Management doesn’t listen and is so far removed from the work that they are years behind in their thinking. Very little transparency in promotion, opportunities and hiring decisions. Pandemic exposed a lot of inadequacies and lack of commitment to students well being.

The program is great for students.

Cons

The work environment is incredibly toxic, with constant gossip, favoritism, and undermining from management. Employees are pitted against each other, and there’s no real sense of teamwork. Deadlines are constantly moved up with no regard for the amount of work that needs to be done, and employees are expected to sacrifice personal time without any recognition or compensation. The company seems to burn through employees quickly. Good talent leaves regularly, either because of the toxic environment or the endless mistreatment. The turnover rate is staggering. Taking a sick day or personal day is frowned upon, and you’ll be made to feel guilty for taking time off.
