Pros

They do give decent benefits, and if you need something to put on your resume, it is good experience to list. Also, because of vendor visits and quarterly shows, there are opportunities to win gift certificates or small electronics, and there are plenty of giveaways. We never want for pens, sticky notes, and weird desk nicknacks. Any immediate managers or supervisors are approachable, and easy to talk to. They recently built a kiosk for breakfast and lunch. It's a bit expensive, but convenient, and the food is pretty good.

Cons

It is very difficult to move ahead, and if you do receive an offer, it may well be for less than your current job, when you take in commission. Things are changing there, and one SMB sales rep had said that it would have been unthinkable to have a promotion come with a cut in pay. HR is unwilling to negotiate. There is plenty of competition for other positions, as the morale among ISRs is low. Many of us feel as though we are expendable. Higher management is significantly less approachable than immediate managers, and they seem like they are out of touch with the general employees. While it is never stated, the inside sales employees are expected to finish their work, and leave either at their regular time, or when the work is finished-whichever is second. Some of us have worked 12- to 13-hour days.

Pros

Onsite gym with old disgusting equipment This place also gives you appreciation for any other employer that you may have had that treated you somewhat with decency and respect......things you won't find at SHI.

Cons

This has got to be the worst place I've ever worked. It's a billion dollar company but is too cheap to pay people what they deserve. It's also a popularity contest. Apparently one day they decided I wasn't part of the "cool kids club", they tried over and over telling me how poorly I'm doing. A manager literally told me "nobody likes you here". Of course none of that was true. If it was management wouldn't have given me the task of training new people and then take credit for my ideas to improve processes. I even had to go to HR about the way I was being treated. HR did nothing but told me to apply internally to another department or find another job somewhere else. I left the company. Shortly after I left, I got a letter detailing that SHI had a data breach and leaked all my info including ssn, email, phone number, address, and covid vaccination info. I'm so glad I refused to give them my info. They were trying to bribe people with an extra PTO day and said "it's safe and only between you and HR". And boom, a few months later this tech company (who sells cybersecurity) gets a major data breach. Just goes to show what kind of incompetence and toxic environment this place has.

Pros

I appreciate SHI's openness to implementing new technology, which keeps the workplace dynamic and innovative. The medical benefits provided are good, but not so much the PTO. While training resources are available, it requires personal time commitment. Despite challenges, there are opportunities to meet supportive colleagues who make the work environment more enjoyable.

Cons

One of the challenges here at SHI is the approach to implementing change, particularly in the selection of new managers. While it's positive to see a commitment to refreshing leadership, there have been instances where the chosen candidates may not have been the best fit. This has led to concerns about the quality of candidate selection and whether potential candidates were deterred by reviews highlighting a less-than-ideal work environment. It would be beneficial for the company to carefully assess candidate fit and ensure that the work environment remains attractive to top talent.
