This was a great company before they started to downsize their contractor workforce. They will work with you if a family member becomes ill, and overall they have a good work/life balance.

Cons

Layoffs every summer, non competitive wages, no longer promotes from within

Through a variety of training and development programs, including skills development and leadership development at varying levels in the organization, we provide opportunities for growth. As we believe in developing our talent, these opportunities have turned into promotional opportunities for a number of our employees. Regarding the concerns about summer layoffs, our businesses are varied, and some offer temporary, seasonal work for certain types of positions. Due to the nature of the work, these specific positions may have limited duration. We appreciate your feedback and contribution to SPX.
