      Pros

      Free coffee and double monitors are the only pros.

      Cons

      Years of experience is the only thing that matters; there is no balance. And not just regarding promotions, the number of years of experience you have will be in direct relation to how you are treated. Not everyone is terrible, but enough people are terrible to make for an awful work environment. There were only a handful of friendly people and the rest treat you like a completely replaceable peasant. The amount of disorganization and mismanagement for a company this big is, quite frankly, alarming. A bunch of excel sheets, a shared drive (NOT a document management system), and a completely unhelpful "standard operating procedures" binder comprise the legal department of SSM.

      Pros

      Great front-line personnel that care about patients. Good information systems and support. Flexibility with work schedule. Most team members work well together. Pay and benefits are good.

      Cons

      Politics overrides doing the right thing. Senior management does not have enough experience. Morale is low due to lack of ethics. Not enough focus on mission and patient needs. Too much focus on financial performance. Not enough resources to adequately perform your job. PTO earned is generous, however you are not able to take it due to workload.
