Pros

I had a lot years ago, it has only gone down hill. I have none to share anymore.

Cons

The leadership at this company are shady. They only care about implementing as many projects as they can and acquiring as many entities as they can to continue to rake in the cash for themselves. NONE of the actual workers see any of this benefit. They have no work-life balance. The leadership drive in their super expensive, super fancy cars, while workers are applying for health assistance. We are a healthcare company that owns our own health insurance, and other companies that use our health insurance (DHP) get WAY better rates than we do. Odd... Management doesn't staff enough, say yes to as many projects as they can and can look away because they aren't the ones working nights and weekends to meet deadlines. The last thing people had a bit of sanity about was their ability to work from home and enjoy that option, which has since been taken away to, get this, "improve culture". Ha! You are taken a privilege away but not giving anything back - how does that improve culture? Our company did a massive market analysis a while back of what employees should really be paid, since it was clear we weren't stacking up with our competitors and losing peole right and left... so they did the analysis, and told us where we "should" fall based on their research, but then we still have not been put into that pay. That doesn't make any sense right? Why even do it if you can't stand behind paying us what you yourself say we should be getting paid. Employees are leaving left and right and they are just allowing this, not doing anything to improve our lives at this job. They care about making their big salaries which are vastly different than ours. And then just as fast as we have leadership come in, they too leave to bigger and better opportunities.

Pros

Coworkers are wonderful, Managers are decent. SSM is just like any other healthcare corporation although I do think they have the best intentions for their patients but the people who make decisions have no idea what is going on at the bedside.

Cons

a lot of negativity between staff about the company as a whole, no communication, your ideas/concerns are not taken seriously.

Pros

We really help people and have great staff

Cons

Administration don't know what it takes to actually treat patients. Recent lay offs made no sense - department heads were given a number of bodies to get rid of regardless of the needs of the department. Meanwhile we have half a dozen VP of something sitting around making decision to validate their very existence. And now they have come up a truly nonsensical approach to raises. Employees will now get a raise based on the midpoint for their salary range - so long term employees less and newer employees get more. no wonder their is so much talk about Unions!
