Pros

I have been with SSM Health for 3 years and 8 months. I have greatly enjoyed my time with SSM as I can think of no other company where so many employees at all different levels in the organization truly know and believe in the company's Mission (statement). It is the one thing that unites the people of SSM and connects us so powerfully to why we are all here, for our patients. I have been in the professional workforce for nearly 20 years and I can honestly say this is the company where I have grown the most - both professionally and personally.

Cons

I have a different viewpoint of SSM's opportunities since I have had the opportunity to work in different industries/organizations. We are plagued with high turnover at SSM and instead of focusing on retaining current staff and providing better support to our leaders, energy and efforts are being focused on recruiting and reducing 1st year turnover.

Pros

Small community hospital makes it easy to get to know everyone. Convenient drive.

Cons

SSM = Save Some Money. No loyalty shown even to long time employees when budgets cut. Unsafe nurse / patient ratio. Acuity meaningless to staffing.
