Pros
Local managers are great, very caring, promote education of employees, good patient care. Most units are staffed with people who are willing to do the best for their patients and also be helpful to one another, although some are not so pleasant. It's good to be part of a larger system (we are a small hospital) because many policies and orders are shared across the system. It's good to have the back up of such a large company.
Cons
Frequent changes in administration at both local and system levels. Each new person who comes in makes changes, some of which do not work in all of the facilities because of the different communities and sizes. Next person who comes along changes those changes. Also, difficult to get rid of with employees who cause trouble or are bullies to others.
