Self scheduling, day shift, no weekends. Call pay is fantastic

Pros

Health system desires to be among the best in the country and it shows. SSMHealth has won many national awards and they strive to include the staff in their message to deliver the best to the patient.

Cons

Balancing national economic needs, with extremely high standards of care results in having staff believing in the message; and not all staff do and sometimes the staff get "run over" with unnecessary administrative red tape.

Pros

Acceptable pay. Benefits used to be amazing, but are now just average.

Cons

Lack of quality leadership. Leadership passes over good quality employees to move up for outside candidates that have little direct experience. Through reorganization, the message delivered to our teams was, "feel lucky you still have a job." Myself and other colleagues witnessed numerous HR violations from drugs to cheating on internal interviews. HR would do nothing. HR does not want anything to do with whistle blowers.
