Pros
Very competitive salary and benefit package, (for most employees). However I feel that if they would increase the salary of the DON., they would attract better and more qualified candidates. Saber Healthcare is truly a big player in the LTC arena, and they are only going to continue to grow.
Cons
Saber Healthcare is definitely a big player, but I'm afraid the corporate team has lost the focus on what's important ... the staff on the community level. I agree with every review in regards to the Corporate and Regional teams. It's surprising the amount of drama that a handful of professionals can instill on the community level. Executive Director's are not allowed to truly direct on the community level and are usually dismissed without good cause. The Regional team has a habit of dictating conflicting directives to the ED and the community staff. One Regional Director will give one directive while another Regional Director will give an opposite directive, causing a lot of chaos and confusion. The right hand often knows not what the left hand is doing. In the end someone on the community level will either resign or be dismissed. I have witnessed a couple of Regional Director's speak down to and verbally lambaste members of the management staff within earshot of other employees. It immediately causes a lack of trust for superiors and creates an environment of disillusionment. I've watched as clinical directors resign to do an unsafe workload. The incentive/bonus for the Community Marketing Coordinator is very nice! However the goals are becoming more and more unrealistic. Every department head that I have worked with (multiple communities) has a sense of "no matter what I do, it will never be good enough". Another term that I have heard quite often is "Am I going to be the next one they're going to fire". Fortunately, I had the opportunity to leave on my own terms because of a job offer from a competitor. It's very sad to post this review for a company that I once really believed in.
