Pros

-great place to work 20 years ago -Union positions offer good pay at top tier and good benefits. Non Union benefits are so so.

Cons

-no work life balance. Mangemnt is severely underpaid compared to other companies w similar positions. Everyday is a fire drill, too many #1 initiatives, disorganized Senior Management makes job harder than it is by running around in circles. Terrible place to work in last 10 years since employees are no longer valued. Most senior employees leave due turnover and the lack of hours to get Dept to meet company standards. Used to be a fun work environment, now just a stressful work environment.

Pros

As a floater, you get to see lots of different scenery-both on the road and in the various store settings! You have the opportunity to learn lots of different approaches to being a Washington state pharmacist. You also have the chance to learn various management techniques and have the chance to piece together your own personal practice style from things that you are exposed to on the road. It's a fabulous learning opportunity-to learn the region, the landscape, and the king of pharmacist you are aspiring to be!!

Cons

Going to many different stores is a great learning opportunity but it is also quite challenging because you have to learn the way each pharmacy likes things done. No two sites have done things exactly the same. It can get tough because you may be at a store long enough to get comfortable with the way that site prefers things to be done and then you may not go back to that store for a month or whatever and when you return to a site you've previously visited, you have to relearn their style and preferences in a matter of hours. Also, the travel is challenging because you could be scheduled to work at a store that's a two hour drive from your house and you're expected to work a 12 hour shift so with the commute it can end up being a 16 hour day. You are compensated for mileage and drive time but the hours can get brutal.
