Pros

Good job if you just need a job or experience.

Cons

For drivers, when seeking other employment, experience and qualification verification is cruical. Safeway uses a company called ''the work number" to verify employment which charges possible employers for verification information and the HR department will ignore contact from potential employers. Some companies have policies against using sites who charge for info, so if they do, you will be passed over for a position you may be qualified for because they cannot verify your employment.

Pros

At some locations there is good compensation and getting laid off will never happen because the company appears extremely stable. People have to eat so like any utility business model, it is unlikely to evaporate.

Cons

Company focuses on customers over employees. Employees must be happy for guests to be happy. There is no incentive to keep employees motivated. They are very corporate and make decisions that seem strange, wasteful, or poorly executed

Pros

The pay is okay for cashiers. Customers are extremely nice (for the most part), and makes you're job enjoyable. You get paid every week.

Cons

Working here is physically exhausting. Coworkers do not work together and will throw you under the bus for their own benefit. Managers will walk around with nothing to do but micromanage. You are always at a constant fear that you aren't doing something right. Too many ridiculous rules. Managers will always be trying to give cashiers work when they see you're not busy, but not realize that the most simplest job will take hours because of the interruptions of customers. Even if you are not busy that second, you just have to wait half a minute to get more customers. The coworkers that brown nose the managers will get special treatment. Not the employees that are actually doing their job. Technology is ancient. You will kill your back due to the lack of hand scanners for heavy objects.
