Pros

Great pay, great equipment, best benefits you can find, holidays floater days and sick days accumulate quick and you don't have to wait to get on the board to receive all of that. Pay is piecework figured by hourly, you can work as fast or slow as you want. 65,000. to 70,000. First yr. You don't work your days off and you cap out at 60 hours a week.

Cons

Weekdays off no weekends for at least 10 years, you spend as much time picking up pallets in your trailer as driving, a lot of bay area stores and hard to get into. Pay is piecework figured by hourly. 5-25 pieces added to each load, two or three loads per day, X 400 drivers makes for a lot of mistakes which are fixed and added to your next check if you take the time to find them. A lot of games between dispatch and drivers and a lot of nitpicking and write ups. 3 minutes late on arrival time or sign out expect a write-up. Take your lunch late or skip your second lunch expect a write-up. Takes two to three years to get on the board. Turnover is around 50 drivers a year. Great benefits that go up 35 - 50 a year and are at $631 a month right now.

Pros

Maybe a good start up job for teens. Pays weekly, flexible schedule. L

Cons

Safeway is so unreliable for an adult trying to make a living. Each store is like drama central, favoritism, drama drama drama. High turn over rate.

Pros

Other employees were usually pretty great as well as some management. You get to learn from customer reviews about different products before you buy them.

Cons

Literally everything. I have been treated so badly by management, I still can't believe it. You can work anywhere between 15-45 hours depending on the week and how much they like you. If the hiring manager doesn't like you, you don't get to switch departments no matter how much they want you. If you want a day off, they get to decide if it's a good enough reason. I was told that if I didn't raise enough donations, I didn't deserve to use my vacation hours. They cut your breaks short, make you work off the clock if you're in uniform, and play HUGE favorites. I was also by another store manager that I needed to quit because I couldn't do my job right. This is after making me go to numerous meetings about ONE bad secret shopper review. If you get a good review from a SS or customer, they will never acknowledge it. I could go on for days.
