Lack of leadership and opportunities for growth

Certain work departments are overworked and management over looks that. I'm not sure if supervisors are told what to say, but I hear, "I'm working on it" constantly and rarely see results. Very shorthanded where I work and when I tried to talk to HR, I was accused of trying to get more money and having negative thinking, so I better stop. This place is already a ticking time bomb with their employment base mostly 55 or over and they chase away any chance they have of getting new employees. That encounter with HR was the most disgusting representation of the company I've seen. Wouldn't listen and looked at phone a few times. Became visibly upset and made assumptions. How can I work somewhere when my advocate for a fair hearing won't listen? My supervision lied to HR during the meeting as well. Issues that actually matter around the plant get overlooked because of money. Always looking for ways to save a penny.
