OK as a temporary gig

Pros

Raise structure, cool co-workers, you will definitely get your breaks as scheduled which is appreciated. Also, they offer free meals to their employees in the cafeteria. I worked in a restaurant and even with my employee discount I couldn't justify the prices for my meal every shift.

Cons

Sage Hospitality is a Bureaucracy. A lot of the customers are very difficult to work with and act very entitled. Sage embodies a customer is always right attitude. Also, they take out a TON of taxes

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your employment on Glassdoor. I am glad you enjoyed your experience working in one of our restaurants and felt that our pay structure, benefits and the quality of fellow associates was good. At Sage we truly do value our customers and though some customers may be difficult, our culture is to treat them all with respect and try to resolve their issues. Thank you for your time with Sage. We hope to have you work with us again.

Pros

Sage has been an incredible company to work for. They truly take care for their associates. Over the last several years of hard work and great passion for the business, I have been afforded many great opportunities to advance my career. I highly recommend this company if you are results-driven, passionate and looking to advance your career.

Cons

Sage is not always the best at procedures and systems but we more than make up for it in how we take care of our people.

Congratulations on being with Sage for over 10 years! That speaks volumes as to our Sage culture and our ability to provide advancement opportunities for our associates. I want Sage to continue to be a company where associates can grow and stay with us for their entire career. I am glad that you see how our striving to be “heart led leaders” carries through in our day to day operation. Procedures and systems are always areas we can improve on and will continue to do. It IS our people that make the difference and that is something you can’t teach, it is the type of quality person we hire. I am glad you are one of those!

Pros

Allows me to run my business without interference. Trusts me to make on site decisions. Allows me to do charity work and actually makes it part of my performance review.

Cons

Orientation process is not exactly fine tuned. You need to be a self starter.

It is great to hear from a recently hired General Manager that you feel empowered to act independently and that you too value community service and its’ impact. We take pride in our hiring process to ensure we hire people with the skills to make decisions and to take pride in the hotel property as if it were their own. It sounds like you are a perfect fit! I hope you will continue to enjoy and engage in our Sage culture! I will pass along the information about the Orientation process to make sure we can make some improvements in it. I value the feedback very much!
