Pros

Some lovely people on the ground Unnecessarily nice offices Reasonably modern tech suite

Cons

Repeated waves of redundancies which expect those to survive to pick up the work of multiple fired colleagues with no compensation Meagre salaries and pay increases Insane office work policies forcing colleagues with 3+ hour commutes into the office 3 days per week to spend their entire day on Teams Callous leadership who wave their lack of respect for their employees as a badge of pride

We appreciate your feedback and have read through your comments. Please note that our hybrid working approach is an important element of the way we work at Sage that is complemented by other benefits such as paid time to volunteer, the ability to work away for up to 10 weeks a year and free well-being support tools. We recently also answered several colleagues' questions about the new 3-day policy. If you've not seen this communication on our internal intranet site, it sheds more light on how colleagues will be supported as they adhere to our updated hybrid structure. More information about what we offer can be found here https://www.glassdoor.co.uk/Benefits/Sage-United-Kingdom-Benefits-EI_IE1150.0,4_IL.5,19_IN2.htm - Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We’ll continue to work hard to improve how we enable colleagues to thrive.

Pros

Great people – not so great higher management

Cons

I’ve been with the company for a few years now, even before the pandemic hit. When COVID shut everything down, the company did a great job adapting so we could all work from home. And guess what? We still nailed our goals and kept things running smoothly. So, I’m really puzzled by the new rule that we have to be in the office at least three days a week. It feels like a step back, especially since we’ve proven we can be just as productive from home. If some people aren’t hitting their targets, maybe they need a different solution, but it doesn’t seem fair to make everyone come in because of that. On a personal note, this change is a huge hit to my work-life balance. My family has grown during this time, and being able to work from home has been a lifesaver. Now, with a commute that takes me 3 hours and 20 minutes round trip on a good day, it’s almost impossible for my husband and me to juggle everything with the kids. I hope the company will reconsider this policy or at least offer some support for those of us who are really struggling with the commute and childcare. Maybe there’s a better way to handle this that doesn’t put so much strain on everyone.

Pros

- worked with some amazing colleagues across the company - many people truly care about the products we create - great volunteering opportunities - we have customers who value our products - customer interviews allow us to assess our customers real needs and wants

Cons

- senior leadership team have purposefully antagonised staff - working from office 3 days a week imposed from Jan 2025 for everyone on an office working contract, whilst most of the top leadership are on remote contracts ,and thus, completely unaffected - working from office mandate seems to be a smokescreen for reducing headcount without having to go through the proper processes - lots and lots of nepotism within the company, especially from people with more senior roles hiring their children into Sage - lots of teams working on the same or similar projects, in an uncoordinated way - AI features being pushed without first assessing the cost of implementation and real value to the customer - many basic UI improvements sidelined to push in AI features - lots of wishy washy projects happen for marketing purposes - where colleagues grow a lot and their responsibilities expanded significantly, compensation not increased - internal and external role names are different, which makes any gender pay analysis invalid - senior colleagues almost all from one demographic - more expensive colleagues who leave are replaced with early careers people to save money which means remaining colleagues expected to take up more responsibility and also teach for the same pay - leadership talks to outside world not aligned with what is really happening on the ground
