It is good to hear you enjoyed the supervision you received while working at Nystrom and Associates as we work hard to ensure all employees get supervision and access to team consultation each week. We think by engaging as a group we can find the best direction for our clients. Our consultation is multidisciplinary which helps us treat those suffering from co-occurring disorders. We work hard to offer benefits to all our staff and are happy to see your appreciation of the benefit set we provide. Your comments regarding the limited chemical health treatment scope is a little confusing to us. We encourage all our clinical staff to use the treatment modality they feel accomplished in. This ranges from motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, to 12 step facilitation. We offer nutrition services and full array of mental health services and testing to every clients on an as needed basis. Each clinician brings an array of therapeutic interventions based on individual educational achievements. Research has shown individuals with a substance use disorder get well faster if participating in group therapy. This is why we use the group therapy as a primary therapeutic function in treatment. We also focus on abstinence as one of our main requirements of those individuals seeking help with addiction. To remain abstinent contributes to better outcomes for our clients, and helps put their disease in remission. One of our goals is total abstinence from all mood altering substance and the development of coping strategies to move into recovery. While we understand some individuals have trouble with this piece of the program we identity this as part of their illness and work with them in pursuit of abstinence.

Pros

Great and supportive co-workers, supervisors, and managers. I really felt that I have a support system and opportunities for feedback and career advancement. Clear expectations which helps the job performance. Great start if you're looking to work in the healthcare field!

Cons

Pressure to answer LOTS of phone calls, 30minute break (short). Can be stressful/emotionally draining at times for various reasons such as handling escalated calls, (rarely crisis calls), processing times takes too long, and patients getting inpatient/unable to get them in sooner than they would like. Insurance is complicating.

Pros

Nystrom and Associates is a great company! The work environment is very team oriented and everyone works hard to make sure everyone is welcome and a part of a team! There are lots of learning opportunities. The support staff role, in particular, is a great way to gain exposure to a variety of different experiences, prompting further development in healthcare and administration. Anyone interested in healthcare, mental health, or administration should certainly apply!

Cons

I have no constructive cons at this time. It's a great company with values driven behind helping patients from around the state of Minnesota.
