Not good

Pros

Pay is decent, can work remotely

Cons

Back to back patients all day with no admin time. 25 minute unpaid lunch break. No say in who you accept as patients, no ability to discharge anyone without checking with and getting approval from MD supervisor (despite MN being an Independent Practice state for NPs and not needing a collaborating MD). VERY low 401k match. Mandatory case collaboration with MD supervisor weekly, but have to work extra one day a week to make up this time, EVEN THOUGH IT IS REQUIRED. Have to see people for new patient evals even when they did not turn in any patient history forms, consents, records, etc., and at this point that is MOST of the new patient appointments. Patients can be up to 25 minutes late for eval and we are still required to see them and complete eval appointment. Pts not held to any standard or level of accountability; everything is on the provider.

Supportive Work Environment

Pros

All of the staff members at the clinic are helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere is very supportive. I am provided with plenty of supervision time and can quickly contact my supervisor in case of emergencies. The company has clear policies that help guide medical decision making and are supportive of employees.

Cons

As is the case with most healthcare establishments, it can be hard to achieve good work-life balance for providers. However, Nystroms has been implementing changes to achieve this, including paid admin time, and more flexibility with PTO.

Changes not good

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

If you work hard you get paid well.

Cons

Lots of changes not for the better, since Nautic Partners bought the company many changes have been made. Not for the better, many longtime staff leaving due to this. Duluth clinical supervisor is antagonistic towards staff who have religious beliefs.
