Pros

If you are the individual who enjoy scheduling and maintaining your calendar, and work independent with your clients out in the community... this is the ideal job for you!! There are ALOT of benefits working at NAL... you get support from your supervisors, managers and everyone else to ensure YOU succeed in your job!!! In addition, there are alot of opportunities to grow and learn at NAL, which is why I chose to work here...

Cons

Some clients have the tendency to cancel appointments at the last minute...

Pros

Top notch medical director who is very supportive of the medical providers. HR and management are well organized and supportive. They foster a collaborative environment and support the providers. They also make sure to have regular case conferences and meetings with education and on going training.

Cons

401k matching benefit is not as good as it should be

Pros

Fun coworkers, understanding managers, good PTO, holiday pay

Cons

too much to do on a daily basis. there have been lots of changes in the company recently becuase of another company becoming a partner or part owner and while I know things have to change when comapnies grow, it seems like higher management just expects everyone to just do more and more an still be great at everything. It was a great place to work at first, but once they laid of people at the call center and put more on clinic staff, it got super stressful and negative. My managers were really nice and helped us a lot when we would get behind. They were also really good at showing us positivity, but they were always really busy too, and I'm sure it was wearing on them as well. This wasn't a fresh out of college job for me, i have worked other pcles too and undesrtand that sometimes changes are made that not everyone likes, but it seems as though the changes Nystroms is making could have been executed better. they told us that part of the reason the call center changed was becuase those staff didn't have enough to do during slow call times, but it seems to me that office staff were already overwhelmed at that point, so they could have given some of the clierical duties to the call center, like processing faxes, scanning and sorting paperwork, etc. Instead, they pushed calls to the clinic staff and said that "duties were being evaluated to see what could be taken off support staff" but they just added more and more to our plates without hiring more people. I just think the changes have been executed poorly and upper management even came and talked to us, but didn't seem to really hear our feedback.

Thank you for your review and to your service for the patients that we serve. We appreciate your comments regarding the fact that you felt you had good and supporting managers, and good benefits related to Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays. I am sorry to hear that you felt too stressed out at work. The reason why we made changes to how patient phone calls were handled (formerly taken at the Call Center for all patient phone calls) to just having the Call Center take New Patient calls only, was to provide better patient care to our current patients. Currently, calls are being answered more promptly due to this change. We care very much about ensuring our staff feel supported and we are always wanting to keep the lines of communication open so we can work as a team so we are always willing to listen. We have made many positive changes to our health plan for 2020. Our plan has always covered mental health care. Thank you for your feedback.
