Pros

My coworkers on the training team were nice, but I didn't receive instruction on what my responsibilities were or how to perform them from my manager or the person who I was told was responsible for onboarding me. I believe this was in part due to the job being almost exclusively work from home. It was nice not having to commute, but there was a lack of communication on the team. The person onboarding me and my manager often gave me different instructions that conflicted.

Cons

The manager of the Epic Training team was unreliable. He was repeatedly absent from meetings he had accepted. Because it's a work from home job I spent a lot of time by myself not sure what I should be doing which was stressful. My manager frequently did not respond to emails or direct messages when I needed him. He insisted I prioritize redesigning training materials (in PowerPoint, Word documents) instead of interacting with staff I was assigned to educate. Based on his feedback my primary responsibilities were that of a graphic designer, not an EHR Educator. My coworkers expressed having similar challenges working with him and this has caused frequent turnover on the team. I left the job due to the manager's lack of involvement and support. If you're looking to educate or be involved with EHR, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

Pros

Evidence based practice Nurses work well together

Cons

Don’t care about the communities they serve, especially the rural communities. Worry more about LGBTQ+ than about giving good care to all of their patients.
