      Pros

      This is about St. Luke's South, in Overland Park. Mostly a good staff. Good benefits. A large health system so you can transfer. Good joint commission reviews.

      Cons

      Some members of the management team are inexperienced. The few bad apples on staff are allowed to stay and they make everyone else's job harder. The don't put enough resources in to on the job training...usually they are training while they are short handed...because they have to train someone...I saw this happen in more than one department...so you end up feeling like you don't know what you are doing...cause you don't.

      Pros

      There is a nursing advancement program. You have onsite training. Retirement benefits are decent. They have committees that improve things.

      Cons

      Nurses have to work long hours without proper break times. The pace is hectic and you work with leadership that sits in offices.

      Pros

      Benefits, job security, the staff level people are magnificent and make it a great place to work.

      Cons

      Internal politics and feeling good about themselves has replaced decent business sense by senior leadership. Decisions that are made are not uniformly applied, totally reversed or just ignored at certain levels of the organization resulting in a very frustrating work environment.
