Not such a good place to work - Punitive culture

Pros

They are very proud of their status in the health industry. Profit sharing is ok not as expected.

Cons

New managers are not trained consequently there is no communication and do not know how to handle employees. Recruiters should hire according to manager expertise otherwise new employees suffer the ineptitude of the inexperience manager. Benefit you have to wait 3 months for affordable benefit coverage otherwise can get benefits at a very high cost for the initial period. This is very costly for family coverage. Higher management does not recognize prior experience, supports the inexperience manager even though it is very noticiable how inexperience they are. Not such a professional place employees are very insulting to other employees and they are not reprimended because they have been with Saint Lukes for many years. Extremely punitive culture.

Pros

Friendly people, great diversity, nice male/female leadership mix. Benefits are good and there's a feel of family throughout the organiziation.

Cons

A lot of hours go into this company, this extra work is seldom recognized. Lack of management training and accountability can be observed throughout the company.

Pros

Shared Governance, Clinical Ladder (CAP Program), Mutual Climate of Respect--- among Dr's/Nurses/Admin/Aux Staff, Beautiful Facility, Excellent Benefits- I loved the Dr's I worked with. Great teamwork on my unit- great nurses to work with.

Cons

Low Pay-- while CAP program is excellent way and incentive to be involved and contribute to hospital, you have to jump through hoops to get a raise, which is still low. Top Heavy in Mgmt., Often no time for lunch or restroom breaks (perhaps the nature of the job?)
