Pros
Salem Health has really good tier 1 medical benefits. My coworkers were all extremely nice and I had a lot of good laughs that I’ll miss.
Cons
The relationship between leadership and staff was extremely poor when I was working there. I was not aware of the depth of the dysfunction when I was hired because the manager was extremely good at hiding it or talking around it. Within a few weeks of working in my role, I started to notice just how bad morale was. Coworkers started to open up about looking for other jobs because of how miserable they were. I started to notice coworkers completely shut down whenever our manager came around. When I would ask about it, no one wanted to discuss it at first. Unfortunately, I didn’t need them to tell me anything because I could see it for myself. It’s hard to put into words the dysfunction I saw. My manager seems to be very disliked by a lot of people throughout the hospital. As I became more part of the team, coworkers would open up and talk about things that made it clear to me I needed to find a better environment to work in. The workload also became an unbearable and impossible task, which made my decision to leave a lot easier. Now that I am gone, I look back at my time in supply chain with great sadness. In the heat of the moment and because the workload was so great, a lot of red flags went unnoticed. It was not until I had time to process my short time there that I now realize what a complete mess it was. Since I left, 70% of my previous coworkers have also left. People vote with their feet , and it could not have been more clear.
