Pros

Great benefits, and great community

Cons

Administration and some in the executive team have lost sight of compassion and empathy towards people that work in this organization. They’ve become complacent, selfish, and sabotage each other to get ahead in their careers. It isn’t very comfortable to see grown adults act like children. It’s evident that they operate in this manner to seek approval from the CEO. Unfortunately, the CEO also perpetuates the same behavior.

Pros

Pay. Staff. Beautiful campus located in good location within Salem.

Cons

Management within IS are ineffective and spend too much time in meetings and enforcing LEAN fundamentals in the daily work. They don’t understand the amount of work they create on some staff and allow other staff to do very little. Horrible execution when it comes to completing projects! Sustain and operate is reactive, causing excessive stress on staff to maintain. LEAN! LEAN! LEAN! Makes too much emphasis on making charts, false metrics, silly wall art to show bogus results. So called “Test of change” is a cover up to excuse lack of thought before implementing a “great idea”, Be prepared to feel stressed more than normal, under appreciated, overworked and ignored. Have little sense of purpose and ownership to the work. Inequality of workload. It’s 0300 as I write this review if that tells you anything. It shouldn’t be this easy to have so much to dislike about a company, but it’s the environment in IS that creates the response.

Pros

IT management/Leadership is young and inexperienced, so getting them to sign off and pay for training was readily available, whether suited or needed for the company or employee. They strive for employee retention.

Cons

IT management/Leadership is young and inexperienced, were hired based solely on degrees obtained though they had no experience with the technologies they were managing. Leads are looked at as management, though they are leads of departments and not really management and leadership/management seems to be very in disarray and changing a lot. Very often they don't have someone in management/leadership roles, or just use various employees as interim instead of finding someone who is truly qualified for the role.
