Pros

Great environment, good benefits, nice people, CEO genuinely wants to (and is) driving for social change and equality, the core products sell themselves

Cons

Underinvestment in anything outside of the Sales org means poor processes and systems that are bandaided together and creaking at the seams. As a result, work is highly manual, repetitive and dull. This is compounded by the fact that many senior leaders have grown up with the company and, quite simply, aren’t equipped to manage the large orgs they now have and have no idea of industry best practice. 401k match is weak (because none of the Exec or Sales teams care because they all have equity and large bonuses).

Pros

Excellent benefits, solid compensation, and an authentic (and often successful) focus on work-life balance, time off, and giving back have made my career here both enjoyable and rewarding. Culture at Salesforce is truly (and positively) unique in my experience. For the most part leadership and engineering works as a team and are cooperative, friendly, supportive.

Cons

After a couple of years you are functionally punished for staying at Salesforce in terms of compensation - it would be easier to make more in the same role elsewhere. Recent management changes in the Security group have been very negative. Huge amounts of high-ranking leadership brought in from outside the company have had large negative effects on morale and culture within Security. Most importantly - in the past Security leadership very obviously and effectively lived the value of 'Ohana' that is constantly focused on at Salesforce. It was clear leadership cared about people on the team. That does not seem to be the case anymore. This has caused many long-time leaders and engineers to leave and that causes more culture shift/drain and the cycle continues. This problem isn't limited to one group. Unfortunately, there are pockets of the company that don't live up to the positive culture mentioned. These pockets seem to be growing as Salesforce acquires more companies with other cultures and brings in senior leadership from other cultures.

good co-workers - many likeable, but very frustrated, people working on Infra

Cons

all sheen, no substance - database issues no one understands, constant outages, slow performance, and weak executives imported from Microsoft contribute to worst infra operations you can imagine
